Dorothy May Adams, 89, died Feb. 5, 200-5, of natural causes in Klamath Falls.

Mrs. Adams was born in Portland to Albert Louis and Grace Clara (Calkins) Durant. She was the second of their six children.

She was raised in Klamath Falls and graduated from Henley High School.

While in high school she met Cheester Julius "Buster" Adams and they were married in Carson City, Nev., in 1940.

After marriage they owned a ranch in Langell Valley before moving in the early 1950's to Northern California, where they owned and operated Adams Logging C., Mrs. Adams did all the bookkeeping for the company.

Following their retirement in teh mid-1980's they moved back to Klamath Falls.

She enjoyed needlepoint, crocheting, and making delicate laces. She also enjoyed growing plants and flowers and playing golf.

Among her other likes were playing poker and she loved to read and write. She was a published oet and plyed the organ and the keyboard.

Mrs. Adams was in the grandparent program at Ferguson Elementary School for about one year until eyesight problems would not allow her to continue.

She was a fomer member of the California Farm Bureau and once went with other members on a trip to Japan.

Survivors include her son John F. Adams of Klamath Falls; son and daugher-in-law Charles and Diane Adams of Lakeview; grandchild Shawn Adams of Portland; grandchild and spouse Shannon Jo and Joshua Gabriel of Albany; great-grandchildren Isaac Joshua Gabriel and Roman Charles Gabriel of Bend, and sister Helen Smith of Salem.

She was preceded in death by her husband on Aug. 30, 1996; sisters Arlene Gooding and Ruth Trelease; and broners Gene and Vernon Durant.
