Elton Eugene Adams, 82, formerly of Madrid, passed from this life on Friday, March 6, 2009 at the Madrid Home in Madrid. In agreement with Elton's wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service honoring Elton's life will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Thursday, March 12, at Sundberg-Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Madrid. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, north of Madrid.
Elton was born on July 10, 1926 in Moulton, Iowa to Jesse and Eva McCurg Adams. He was an army veteran of World War II. Elton married Dorothy Louise Williams on July 27, 1947 in Moulton and they made their home north of Madrid, where he farmed many years. Elton and Dorothy moved to Slater, nearly 17 years ago.
He is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife of nearly 62 years, three brothers, and several nieces and nephews. Elton was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, four brothers and one son at infancy.
There will be no visitation held. Memorial contributions may be made to the Elton E. Adams Memorial Fund.
