J. Cecil Guise, 67, Gilliard apartments, Carlisle Street, died at the Warner Hospital today at 9 a.m. from a compliacation of diseases following an illnes of a year.
He was born in Adams County, a son of the late Jacob D. and Clara C. (Adams) Guise. Prior to making his home in Gettysburg 12 years ago, he was a farmer. For the last 12 years he was employed with the Pennsylvania State Highway Deptartment. He was a member of the Heidlersburg Lutheran Church.
Surviving are his widow, the former Cora Ellen Howe, whom he was married 43 years, three sons, J. Glenn, Gettysburg, Robert H., York Springs, and John A, Hagerstown, six grandchildren, two brothers, Earl, Gettysburg and Ray , Gettysburg and one sister, Mrs. Charles Cashman, new oxford.
Funearal services Friday at 2 p.m. from the Bender Funeral Home with the Revs. Samuel M. Clarke and Kenneth James. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery.
