Lucille and Oliver Thomas Harrelson were married May 22, 1938, by Reverend Nugent Baldtree. Early on they lived in Cisco where Lucille was teaching. Lucille was losing her eyesight and had to quit teaching in 1940. They moved out to Nimrod to live on the old Harrelson Homestead where they began raising a family. Oliver farmed and did custom hay baling. They were members of the Nimrod Baptist Church.
Oliver and Lucille had five children, Phillip Loring (born 1941), Rodney Allen (born 1946), Nelda Ruth (Born 1948), James Edgar (born 1951), and Sharon Gay (born 1952). Phillip and Rodney attended Scranton schools early on, but then all of the kids attended school in Cisco.
Oliver and Lucille moved into a new home in Cisco in 1966, where they lived until he died in 1986.
