Adrian Joseph "A.J." Morrell, 69, of Star Valley Ranch, died Saturday, June 28, 2008 in Salt Lake City of trauma incident to a head injury.
A.F. was born May 2, 1939 in Blackfoot, Idaho, the son of A.H. and Lila Morrell. He was the second of four children. He graduated from Blackfoot High School and earned an Associates degree from Ricks College.
He served in the Army Reserves for six years and served an LDS mission in England and Wales. He met his wife, Rosemary Delaney, while attending Ricks College, and they were married in the Idaho Falls Temple on August 5, 1964. He was employed in several management capacities including VP and Controller for Valley Bank and Director of Human Resources for Idaho Fresh Pak prior to his retirement in 2002.
A.J. was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in two bishoprics, two high councils, and most recently as a worker in the Idaho Falls Temple.
He is survived by his wife, Rosemary daughter, Lisa Kunz of Ashton, Idaho; his sons Tony(Evelyn) Morrell of Carey, Idaho; and Kyle (Sunny) Morrell of Meridian, Idaho, seven grandchildren; a sister, Cheryl (Mick) Ishida of Lacey, Washington; and brothers, Reid (Susan) Morrell and Zan Morrell of Blackfoot, Idaho. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, July 3, at 11 a.m. at the Thayne LDS Stake Center. Family will receive friends from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Schwab Funeral Chapel in Thayne on Wednesday July 2, and on Thursday morning from 9:30 -10:30 a.m. at the Thayne Stake Center. The family would appreciate contributions to the Humanitarian Fund of the Perpetual Education Fund of the LDS Church, in lieu of flowers.
