Thomas Franklin Dossey, Jr. was a son of Rev. Thomas Franklin Dossey, Sr. and Lavinia Elizabeth Curry Dossey. He had, at least, one sibling.

Thomas Franklin Dossey, Jr. married Elizabeth D. "Lizzie" Welch on October 12, 1858 in Limestone County, Texas. They had thirteen children.

Private Thomas Franklin Dossey:
I have a Confederate grave marker induction ceremony pamphlet from his ceremony that was on Sunday, October 8, 2006.
My uncle, Roy Lee Maxwell attended and gave it to my dad [James Franklin Maxwell.] Thomas Franklin Dossey is their great grandfather. On the pamphlet, it lists him being in Co. C, 24th Texas Cavalry and Co. L, 21st Texas Cavalry.
