She lived in Hamptonville, NC, and was a retired preschool teacher from Head Start. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Taylor Steelman & Bessie Shore Steelman; several half brothers and half sisters.
Survivors include children, Gilbert Stephen Gough, Elaine Gough Hicks, Amy Gough Outen, & Timothy Howard Gough; grandchildren, Chelsea Hicks, Preston & Olivia Gough, and Sunny Outen; sisters, Martha Steelman Sanders, Peggy Steelman Long, & Eva Steelman Calloway; brother, H.L. "Bobby" Steelman.
Interment in the Church graveyard followed funeral services conducted Monday, January 7, 2008.
