Robert Lee Ashley, of 691 Buttermilk Spring Road, died Monday (Dec. 19, 2005) at his home He was born Dec. 24, 1910, at Nelson County, to Henry T. and Alice (Crist) Ashley. He owned Staunton Pump and Tank Co.
Mr. Ashley was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Louise Betty (Jamerson) Ashley; a son, William H. Ashley; five brothers, Harry, Tom, Douglas, Jake and Tunstall Ashley; and five sisters, Stevie Hudson, Josephine Eggleston, Frances Ponton, Laura Floyd and Mary Adams. Survivors include two daughters, Barbara A. Williams of Spartanburg, S.C., and Donna A. Propst of Staunton, and a son, Ronnie L. Ashley, also of Staunto
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Calvary Baptist Church, Lovingston. Burial will be at Mountain View Cemetery, Lovingston. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church and at other times at the residence. Wells/Sheffield Funeral Home, Lovingston, is handling arrangements.
