Victor was an insurance salesman and a vacuum cleaner salesman. He lived most of his adult life in Duncan, Oklahoma. Victor attended Oklahoma A & M College in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

Did you know him?

This poem, a very simple poem
is quite indicative of the man that
it was written about, Victor
Harned. Mr. Harned was the little
man that worked at the main
library's check out booth. He died
on the last day of classes of the
spring semester of 1971. I
dedicate this peom to all the
people that knew him.

Did You Know Him ?
He
He always would talk to me, as I passed by
He always had a joke, a laugh, a smile
He could be anyone's friend but not now
Sorry Ole Buddy, but I'll miss you
No more questions about track, the Aggies, and me
Oh, I'm sure there will be more but by whom
God will take of you, this I know
It states in the Bible that he'll do so
So rest my friend
Be at ease
Do this for me and I'll be pleased
He's gone, gone on away from here
He's gone, gone
Don't worry
He, He will have a new home.
