Edith Hill Bothe, 89, died June 5, 2003. She was born in Cherokee, IA on Dec 27, 1913. Edith was one of six daughters of Elizabeth and Alexander Hill.
She received her R.N. from Northwestern University and practiced at Boston Children's Hospital. In 1936 she married Dr. Russell T. Bothe and they raised a son, Walter and a daughter, Mary Ann. In 1974 when her husband retired, she moved from Aurora, IL to Del Mar. For the last ten years she has lived at La Vida Del Mar Retirement Residence in Solana Beach.
Edith is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann and David Petree of Solana Beach; her sister, Winifred McCoy of Colorado Springs; four grandchildren, Jennifer, Gregory, and Matthew Petree, and Mark Russell Bothe. She was preceded in death by her son Walter and her husband Russell.
Her family feels blessed to have had her love and presence in their lives for so many years. She will be deeply missed. She is at peace now with her son and husband.
