Her parents, Aubry Gibson and Bessie Marie Cook Gibson raised Nola in Baird, TX where she graduated valedictorian of the 1942 Baird High School Class. Nola married the love of her life, Granvel Pierce, in December 1945 and received her BBA from McMurry College in 1964.
Nola always thought of Baird as a second home, kept up with her classmates and until recent years maintained a second home there.
The Pierce family lived in Abilene until 1965 when Exxon transferred them to Dallas. Nola worked for SMU, George Dahl and Hilton Hotels during her career. Her interest in history led to the study of genealogy, membership in the Dallas Genealogical Society and the Daughters of the American Revolution, Dallas Chapter.
Together Nola and Granvel traveled the US with frequent stops at historical sites, museums and to further research their genealogy.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Bessie Marie Cook Gibson, her father, Aubry W. Gibson, and her husband of 60 years, Granvel Pierce.
