HEBER, Wasatch County – David warren Smith, 88, a retired farmer, died Friday at 9:50 p.m. of causes incident to age.

Born Oct 2, 1862, in the Sacramento valley, California, he was a son of Benjamin Mark and Elizabeth Agnes Wood Smith. He came to Utah in his youth and received his education here. He married Mary Jane Jones June 1, 1837, in Midway, Wasatch county.

Active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he was first counselor in the bishopric, Center ward, Heber, for 22 years. He had filled a mission to California and was an active worker at the Salt Lake temple for some 20 years. His wife died 24 years ago.

Surviving are a brother, C. W. Smith, Salt Lake City; a sister, Mrs. Lillian Hepperson, Salt Lake City; a son, Leonard M. Smith, Mill Valley, Cal.; five daughters, Mrs. Ada Miller, Oakland, Cal.; Mrs. Mabel Udell, Seattle; Mrs. Nettie Field, Soda Springs, Ida.; Mrs. Mary McFadden, Los Angeles, and Mrs. Elphia Frazier; Woods Cross, Davis county; 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. at 125 N. Main, Salt Lake City, and friends may call from 10 a.m. that day. Burial will be in Ogden city cemetery.
