Funeral Services were held Monday, July 19, 2010 at St. Paul's Catholic Church, with Fr. John Fain officiating.
Lucille was born the daughter of Joseph and Anna (Smith) Hollerback. She graduated from Chesaning High School in 1926 and later received her teaching certificate. She taught in Saginaw County for twelve years and in Shiawassee County for twenty-seven years. She was one out of ten of Michigan's retired teachers who received the Distinguished Service Award in 1980. She received the Key to the City from Mayor, Mike Bruff, in 2008 for her 100th birthday.
On June 22, 1931, she married Francis D. McCaffrey in Chesaning. She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church as well as various groups and organizations, including the Shiawassee Council on Aging, Shiawassee Arts Council, the YWCA, Memorial Healthcare and K of C Auxillaries, the Chesaning Historical Society and the Garden Club. She was actively volunteered her time for the 4-H in both Shiawassee and Saginaw counties. She worked and exhibitied at the Shiawassee County Fair for fifty years, winning many ribbons. She enjoyed gardening, scrapbooking and doing needlework.
Survivors include her daughters, Patricia (the late Arthur) Eickholt of Owosso and Louise (Frank) Cordell of Colorado; four grandchildren, Michele (Dr. Lee) Green, Charlene Eickholt, Gregory (Susan) Eickholt, Franklin (Leslie) Cordell; great-grandchildren, Kyle and Nora Green, Bethany, Nathan, Rach and Joseph Wolfe, Adeline and Thomas Eickholt, Ryan and Kevin Eickholt and Catherine Cordell; and one great-great-grandchild, Lila Wolfe.
She was predeceased by her husband, Francis; her sisters, Emma Kyle, Helen Bicke, Frances Conrad and Eve Knieper; brother, Ivan and infant brother, Arthur.
