Timeline:
In the late 1930's early 1940's Clyde and Martha and their 3 children lived northeast of Neosho on some acreage in a house that Clyde built. He drove a truck.
Later in the late 1940's the family moved to Idaho and Clyde and Martha worked at the Green Giant canning factory.
In about 1951 the family moved back to Missouri to Neck City, MO., and lived with a close friend, Marie Casey. Later, in about 1953 Clyde bought 6 lots in Alba with a house on it. At that time he was employed in the plastering/stucco business. The 3 children attended Alba School. In 1956, his youngest son Jackie and another young boy in Alba went hunting, a hunting accident happened and Jackie lost his life.
Several years after the tragedy, Clyde deeded 1½ lots each of the tract to his son Bill and daughter Bonita to build houses on.
At this time, Clyde and his second wife Dorothy, moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado where he was employed at the Printers Retirement Home.
In 1977 Clyde and Dorothy later bought a manufactured home and had it moved in on some property in Purcell that Clyde bought, (another small mining town between Alba and Neck City). Then after awhile, they closed up the house and moved to St. Petersburg Beach, FL. and managed a small Oceanside motel owned by Dorothy's daughter and son-in-law. After spending a year or so there, they moved back to the home in Purcell, MO. and just before retirement he was employed by the Webb City R-7 School district as custodian at the Alba, Missouri elementery school and from there he retired.
