Maurice "Recie" Ruthart


Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, March 9, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. John McCollister officiating. Burial, with Rev. Robert Myre officiating, follows in Evergreen Cemetery.

The family receives friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

She was born Oct. 20, 1931, in Biardstown, to Jeff Curtis and Vee Bowman Bolton. She attended school at Delmar. On Nov. 29, 1952, she married Kenneth Ruthart, building 56 years of family and memories.

She began her career in Fort Worth and later worked at the Arlington Senior Recreation Center. She was a den mother with the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. She was an avid craftsman, sewing, gardening, growing flowers, being a wonderful homemaker and great cook, known for her pecan pies at every holiday function. She was a loving caregiver. When she and her husband retired and returned to Lamar County after 35 years in Arlington, she worked a number of years at Bomart and became a member of Bounds Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant twin brother, Norris Lee Bolton.

Survivors include her husband, Ken; two sons, Dickey Ray Ruthart of Paris and Larry Don Ruthart and wife, Karen, of Paris; two granddaughters, Lindsey Rae Ruthart and her mother, Elayne Ruthart, of Arlington and Lori Lynn Valdez and husband, Joe, of Argyle; two great granddaughters, Grace Valdez and Aly Dollins; one brother, Sammy Bolton and wife, Reva, of Paris; one sister, Peggy Head and husband, Denny, of Blossom; special friends, Bonnie and Murrell Chester of Birthright; along with numerous nieces and nephews and a plethora of friends.

Casket bearers will be her nephews, Chris Head, Jeff Bolton, Brett Ruthart, Will Ruthart, Brad Ruthart and Ronald Hayes.
