Memorial service for Dannie D. Gordon, 60, a former resident of Liberal and Deerfield, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Miller Chapel, Liberal, with Bart Blackwelder officiating.
Mr. Gordon died Friday, July 8, 2005, at his home in Roswell, N.M.
He was born Oct. 29, 1944, in Guymon, Okla., to Ernest W. and Alice M. LeGrange Gordon. He grew up in Hooker, Okla., and in Liberal.
Mr. Gordon worked in the oil field and the beef packing industry and was a long haul truck driver. He had lived in Roswell for three months, moving from Deerfield.
On March 29, 1969, he married Gloria Allen in Garden City.
Survivors include a son, Dannie "Hev-E-D" Gordon of Garden City; a daughter, Gia Ortiz of Lakin; his companion, Kristi Dagel of Roswell; his parents, Ernest and Laura Gordon of Liberal; two stepsisters, Kay Witzke of Liberal, and Judy Sutherland of Meade; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother; and a son, Dennis "Big D" Gordon.
Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association, in care of Miller Mortuary, 908 N. Lincoln Ave., Liberal, KS 67901.
