Services for Joe F. Browning were held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 17, 1995 at the Cypress Creek Baptist Church in Dodson with Rev. Billy Smithart and Rev. Robert Franks officiating. Burial was in Cypress Creek Cemetery under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home of Jonesboro, La.

Mr. Browning, 65, of Dodson, La., died Tuesday, February 14, 1995 at Rapides General Hospital in Alexandria, La., after a brief illness.

Mr. Browning was a longtime resident of Dodson. He was a member of Cypress Creek Baptist Church and a retired logger. He was affectionately known by everyone as "Uncle Joe".

Survivors include his wife, Mattie Browning of Dodson, La.; three sons, Joe Lynn Browning and wife Pam, Gary Browning and wife Brenda, and Danny Browning, all of Dodson, La.; three daughters, Frances Chelette and husband Tommy of Bossier City, La., Charlotte Kirtley and husband Charlie and Rhonda Copeland and husband Gary, all of Dodson, La.; one brother, Paul Edwin Browning and wife Gloria of Dodson, La.; two sisters, Johnnie Lewis of Dodson, La., and Essa Letta Temple of Bethany, La.; sister-in-law, Juanita Browning of Hornbeck, La.; 14 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild, and a score of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were John Coolman, Steven Gaar, Darrell Franks, Mike Franks, Edward Emmons, and Myron Lyles.
