Francis & wife Sarah Hesson Hupp were my 4th great grandparents. I am still researching their lives and will post biography when I am able to add more information to this profile.
Please feel free to contact me if you have addtional information as I would like this to be as complete and accurate as possible.

DAUGHTERS OF FRANCIS HUPP & SARAH HESSON HUPP

11-25-2012: Possible identification of one of daughters of Francis Hupp & Sarah Hesson:

I received the following emails from Steve McPeek (aka McPeek226) on 11/25-27/2012:

"I believe one of the unknown daughters for Francis Hupp is Philinda Hupp, who I am directly descended from. As best as I can tell, she was born in May 1825. PHILINDA HUPP was born May 1825 in Enoch Township, Monroe County, Ohio, and died 21 Dec 1905 in Stafford, Franklin Township, Monroe County, Ohio. She married MATTHIAS LYNCH 1844 in Guernsey County, Ohio, son of CORNELIUS LYNCH and ELIZABETH HOUSE. He was born Mar 1824 in Green County, Pennsylvania, and died 23 Nov 1900 in Stafford, Franklin Township, Monroe County, Ohio."

"I have pinpointed her birth in Noble County, Ohio and have done a search of the possible Hupp men who could be her father. The only match is Francis. One problem I found is not one of the Hupp men list her as a daughter. By looking at census reports in 1840 and 1830, the search can be narrowed real quick to just two men. The other source I have is my grandmother, who told me the Hupp family in Noble County, Ohio is where Philinda is from. I know she married Mathias Lynch in 1844 in Guernsey County, Ohio, so she would not have appear on the census in 1850"

"Mathias was born in Green County, Penn., then migrated to NE Ohio, before settling in Monroe County. Noble County was formed from Monroe and Guernsey in 1851?, so the area could have been close to that."
