Joyce _____ married (1) Ralph Wallen in Plymouth Colony by 1623. They may have had two children: (probably) Mary Ewer Jenkins,& (possibly) Thomas. There is no proof that Anne Wallen Smalley (1623-1694, Jane Wallen Cooper (b: abt 1625), or Richard Wallen (b: abt 1630) were also their children. See Robert C. Anderson's The Pilgrim Migration.
She married (2) by 1644, as his fourth wife, THOMAS LUMBARD of Barnstable. She died after 19 September 1683. There were no children of this marriage.
The evidence for identifying the widow Joyce Wallen as the third wife of Thomas Lumbard is presented by Eleanor Cooley Rue in "Widow Joyce Wallen of Plymouth (1645) and Widow Joyce Lombard of Barnstable (1664): One and the Same?" This article includes a detailed and comprehensive discussion of Ralph Wallen's land holdings and transactions.
After his death, his widow Joyce remained in Plymouth until 1644/5. By 1651/2 Joyce was living in Barnstable.
See Robert C. Anderson's The Pilgrim Migration.
