The funeral for longtime Paris Fire Department member and former Henry County Sheriff's Department deputy Daniel Ford Beurer will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Ridgeway Funeral Home.
Cliff Evans and Gary Collier will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery.
Chosen as pallbearers are Jeff Hamlin, Walt Petty, Barry Farmer, Richie Bomar, Michael Williams Sr., and Vic Mallard.
All other Paris Fire Department firemen and retired Paris Department firemen will be honorary pallbearers.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Saturday and after noon Sunday.
Beurer, 71, died Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, at his residence.
His wife, Betty Mae McFarland Beurer, survives. They were married on May 8, 1960.
Born Jan. 18, 1941, in Detroit, he was a son of David Daniel Beurer and Mary Agnes Ford Beurer, now both deceased.
Beurer was a member of West Paris Baptist Church and a U.S. Army veteran. He retired in 2002 after 38 years as a lieutenant with the City of Paris Fire Department. He also formerly worked part-time with the Henry County Highway Department for 19 years.
In addition to his wife, he leaves two half brothers: David C. Beurer, address unknown and Dean "Billy" William Wheeler of Brea, Calif.; and several cousins who live in Paris.
He also was preceded in death by a half sister: Pamela B. Rodriguez; and a brother: John D. Beurer.
