MRS O. S. MOWERY, SALTCREEK VALLEY CORRESPONDENT DIES

The Pickaway County News lost one of its finest correspondents with the passing Sunday in Berger Hospital of Mrs. Nellie F. Mowery, 84, of Saltcreek Valley.

Mrs. Mowery's news was always of interest to everyone. She often referred to "the home valley folks", which were indeed her friends.

Many folks will remember her late husband, O. S. Mowery, who wrote the Saltcreek Valley news from 1938 until his death.

Mrs. Mowery was a member of the St. Jacob's Lutheran Church at Tarlton.

She was born August 3, 1882 in Saltcreek Township, the daughter of Milton and Lillian Myers Dresbach.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Wayne (Virginia) Luckhart, Rt. 1, Laurelville; two grandsons, Max L. Luckhart, Route 1, Laurelville, and David L. Luckhart, Chillicothe; seven great grandchildren; and a brother, Clark Dresbach, Eaton, O. Her sister, Mrs Lillian Huffman, Portsmouth, died in Septmenber.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Defenbaugh Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronald Brant officiating. Burial was made in Tarlton Cemetery.

Saltcreek Valley Grange held memorial services Teusday evening.
