A beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, Kathleen E. Johnston, 87, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2009, in Baton Rouge surrounded by her family. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Friday was from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation at Moak's Creek Baptist Church, Summit, Miss., on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the religious service at 1 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Dr. Kevin Hand and the Rev. Mike Alexander. Interment will be at the church cemetery. Preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Hollis L. Johnston, whom she worked with in their automotive repair business. She was a member of Zoar Baptist Church and a dedicated, faithful mother and homemaker. Survived by two children, Connie Fanara and husband Anthony, and Ricky L. Johnston and wife Debbie; grandchildren, Melissa Sinning, Marcia Fanara, Mona Sublett, Erick Johnston and Kimberly Johnston; and great-grandchildren, Kaden and Bella Johnston, and Christopher Sublett. The Johnston family would like to thank the oncology doctors and nurses at Ochsner Medical Center.
