Sarah was one of nine children. Her parents were Laura Allis and Abel Leroy Darling. One brother was Hollis Theron.
Sarah married Aaron Gaylord Frisbie on December 5, 1850. They had 8 children: William Eaton, Ann Elizabeth, Stuart Gaylord, Frank Darling (who lived 7 years and about 7 months), Levi Abel, Laura Chloe, "infant" Frisbie (died at 3 weeks old) and Katherine "Katie".

Sarah's obituary:

"OLD POTTERVILLE RESIDENT DIES

Sarah Ordelia DARLING, widow of Aaron Gaylord Frisbie of Orwell, died at the home of her daughter, Kate Frisbie Ross, at Potterville, Tuesday morning. She was born April 25, 1827, being one of the oldest residents of Eastern Bradford. She remembered Potterville when the first log house was still standing by the spring back of where the church now stands. The following sons and daughters survive: W. Eaton Frisbie of Orwell, Stewart G. and Levi A. Frisbie of Elmira, N.Y., Mrs. Hiram E. Bull of Towanda, Mrs. Charles Werkheiser of Nichols, N.Y., and Mrs. E.S. Ross of Potterville. Funeral services will be held from the Ross home in Potterville Friday afternoon at 1 o'clock. Burial will be in the Darling Cemetery."
