John Mason Myers, a farmer, was the 4th of 11 children of Alfred Myers (1830-1900)and Margaret (Ingram) Myers (1835-1914). He had 7 sisters: Henrietta (1856-1923), Classy (1859-1943), Anna Bell (1861-1919), Laura (1865-????), Elizabeth (1873-1934), Margaret (1875-1935), Minnie (1875-1941) and 3 brothers: Edd (1867-1949), Robert C., Sr. (1870-1944), and Caleb (1871-1883).

John married Emma Hagaman (1869-1955) on Nov. 28, 1886 in Rowan Co., KY. They had 6 children. Elbert Arthur (1888-1976), William Tilford (1889-1980), Mable Ware (1891-1974), Beulah Claire (1896-1975), Florence Marie (1905-1986), and Phillip Allen (1911-1952).

John died on Aug. 12, 1942 of cancer in Salt Lick, Bath Co., KY.
