Robert Ira McBryde Succumbs After Week's Illness

Robert Ira McBryde, 55 years of age, died at his home in the Ward community last Saturday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock, after an illness of one week. High Blood Pressure causing a stroke of paralysis, was given as the cause of his death.

Mr. McBryde was born up near New Albany, Miss., spending most of his life in Union and Tippah counties, before moving to George County in 1933.

He was married to Carrie Bishop in January, 1921, and to this union six children were born, two of which preceded him to the grave.
Mr. McBryde spent his life farming, and always enjoyed and loved his family. He counted his friends by his acquaintances, and was a member of the Nell's Chappell Methodist church.

Funeral services were held at Union church Sunday afternoon, January 19th, at 3:00 o'clock, with Rev. G.S. Jenkins in charge of the last rites. Interment was in Union cemetery with McKay's Morticians directing.

He is survived by his widow, one daughter, Mattie McBryde; 3 sons, Ralph and R.W. McBryde, of Lucedale, and Marvin McBryde, of near Ripley; one grandson, and other relatives who have the sympathy of their friends during the dark hours.

Pallbearers carrying him to his last resting place were Jim Brown, Albert Walker, Verbon Hyatt, Comer Seals, Lydle Smith and Ray Walker.

Relatives besides the family here for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. James R. Craig, and Miss Nina Craig, of Durant, Oklahoma.
