Graveside services for Fannie Johnson, 100, Athens, were held May 5 at Concord Cemetery, Anderson County, with Rev. Mike Drinkard officiating under direction of Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home, Athens. Mrs. Johnson died May 2, 1998, in an Athens nursing home.
She was born January 9, 1898, in Georgia to the late J.W. and Willie Kempson Bailey. She lived in the Concord Community of Anderson County prior to moving to Athens in 1982. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey C. Johnson, in 1969, and son, Earnest Johnson, in 1978. Survivors include sons, H.C. Johnson , Leon Johnson and Lewis Johnson; daughters, Nellie Jo Johnson and
Frances Johnson; brother, Clark Bailey; sisters Ruth Williams and Emma Johnson; 3 granddaughters; and 5 great-grandchildren.
