Theodore H. Price died of pneumonia at age 74 at his Park Avenue home in New York. He was nicknamed "Cotton King" in 1900 when at age 39, the cotton brokerage firm, Price, McCormick & Co., which he headed failed for $15,000,000 a week before his wedding to Harriet Eugenia Dyer. He paid off $13,000,000 immediately paid the rest within two years. In 1910 Price left a cotton brokerage business and became editor and publisher of "Commerce and Finance."
