Violet was the wife of Henry Heiman, mother of Judy Youngblood, grandmother of Michael (Stephanie) Youngblood and great grandmother of Abby and Anna and our Angel, Grace Marie.
She met Henry Heiman at Schaumms Soda Shop/Drug Store at the corner of Grand and Natural Bridge. She married Henry and had one child, Judy. She used to tell me it took eight years to get pregnant!
Violet was born in St. Louis, Missouri to Bailey Polk Lark and Myrtle Mae Dee Lark and sister of Henry Bergfeld all who preceded her in death.
She accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior at an early age and lived a Christian life for all of her life. Former member of Gospel Center and Water Tower Baptist Church.
I know that Mom was special but as I grow older I realize just how many blessings she and Dad provided to me - the greatest one is raising me in a loving, Christian home teaching me that Jesus died on the cross for our sins so that we may have eternal life. Thank you, Mom!"
She worked as a seamstress for Marx and Haas and Country Set doing piece work in a sweat shop all of her life.
She was so talented, taught me how to crochet and sew. Mom was a procrastinator (like me). I can remember her hemming my Easter or Christmas dress the evening before or the morning of the occasion. We laughed about that a lot. We both believed you could never have enough patterns or material.
She passed away in her apartment on March 8, 2009 just shy of her 96th birthday.
