MARY (ALBRECHT) DEGNER, 84, died Monday morning in the Joyce Old Folks Home in Rochelle. She was born Jan. 23, 1878 in Bradford Twp., the daughter of Burkhart and Anna Kersten Albrecht. On Feb. 8, 1900 she was married to William F. Degner who preceded her in death in May, 1936. Surviving are two sons, Carl of Franklin Grove, and Raymond of Lee Center; a daughter, Mrs. Maybelle Aschenbrenner; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; two brothers, George of Dixon and Charles of Franklin Grove; two sisters, Mrs. Clara Kelley of Rockford and Mrs. Emma Ventler of Ashton. Services were held on Wednesday afternoon in St. John's Lutheran Church with Rev. Orville Kalkwarf officiating. Burial was made in the Ashton Cemetery.
