Edward P. Donegan, 70, of West Haven died December 22. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Patricia D'Amico Donegan, his daughters Lauralea (Thomas) Dooley and Lynn (Joseph) Bonaldo and his beloved grandchildren Tara Bonaldo and Andrew and Kathryn Dooley, whom he cherished. He was the son of the late Edward F. and Elizabeth Kelly Donegan. Also survived by his brothers Robert F. Donegan and Donald J. Donegan, and several nieces and nephews. Edward served in the US Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis and was a driver for Roadway Express. He served the city of West Haven as a firefighter retiring in 2005 after 38 years of dedicated service. He was the assigned driver of Engine 21 until 1991 when he was appointed Superintendent of Motor Apparatus and held that position until his retirement. He belonged to Firefighters Local 1198, was a volunteer with Engine Company 1, an associate and trustee member of the Allingtown Volunteer Fire Association, and the Connecticut Fire Equipment Mechanics Association. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Acute Coronary Care Unit at St. Raphael's Hospital for their care and concern during his illness. Funeral services from the West Haven Funeral Home at the green WED. morning at 8:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Victory Church at 9 o'clock. The hours for visitation will be TUES (TODAY) from 4 to 8 PM. Interment will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Childrens Burn Camp 601 Boston Post Rd. Milford, CT. 06460 or to FISH of Greater New Haven PO Box 8552 New Haven, CT. 06531.
