Lot shown in photos by WildGeese is a lot to the northeast of where the Cotton graves are

Born about 1839 (died age 78). Possibly ~ W. G. Cotton and M. A. Chambers married in Lee County, AL on February 19, 1873

Reportedly injured October 19, 1864 at Belle Grove, VA during Confederate service

Burial record from sexton says W. G. Cotton, born in Columbus, GA (AL written in later), died age 78 at residence (address, 2622 Fourth Avenue in Columbus) of pneumonia and buried February 20, 1918 in Lot 103 1/2 of Section 1, the sexton's name was Jesse Emory Jefferson

Daniel Olds made an index of deaths August 1890 thru December 1918 from Muscogee County municipal records. It says W. G. Cotton, White male, died February 19, 1918, age 78 (however, newspaper obituary published on February 19 says he died "last night")

Grave apparently has no grave marker. Lots 103 1/2 and 121 1/2 in Section 1 were owned by W. G. Cotton. Other people in these lots are Mrs. M. G. Cotton, age 34, buried March 29, 1882, and Lucy May or Mary Cotton, age 8, buried July 30, 1902

In the Historic Linwood Cemetery book by Dolores Autry and edited by Dowd and others, volume 1 says these graves are in Autry Section B, Lot 163, but they're actually in the south part of B-162. The north part of B-162 is Musgrove. B-163 is made up of Lots 10 1/2, 11 1/2, 101 and 102 in city section 1
