Rosemary Murphy, 77, of Cape Girardeau died March 25, 2002 at St. Francis Medical Center. She was born June 5, 1924 at Lutesville, MO, daughter of Delmar and Ora Choate Abernathy.
She and Walter Murphy were married Feb. 13, 1943.
Mrs. Murphy was a graduate of Lutesville High School.
She was a waitress in St. Louis a number of years, moving to Cape Girardeau in July 2001.
Survivors include her husband; four sons and daughters-in-law, Dwaine and Carlene Murphy; Ben and Betsy Murphy; James and Sharon Murphy, all of St. Louis; Kenneth and Deneke Murphy of Cape Girardeau, MO; three daughters and sons-in-law, Mitzi and Steven Dix; Vicki and Kevin Katke; Tami and Harold Hamby, all of St. Louis; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, James and Mary Margaret Abernathy of Cape Girardeau, MO; Ben Abernathy of St. Louis, MO; William and Lillian Abernathy of Cape Girardeau, MO; a sister and brother-in-law, Marie and Bill Dugger of Herrin, IL; 15 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
There is no visitation. A memorial service will be Saturday at Kutis Funeral Home, St. Louis. Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
