Services for Arthur Dean McBurnett, 70, who died Tuesday at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, are 2 p.m. Thursday at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Chapel in Honey Grove. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Honey Grove.

McBurnett was born the son of Arthur McBurnett and Kate Brady McBurnett on Dec. 30, 1920 in Soper, Okla.

He married Nancy E. Puckett on Dec. 14, 1966 in Austin.

He was a retired real estate investor and a member of the Episcopal faith. He was a DAV member and a member of the American Legion. He also served as a county commissioner for precinct three for a term.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy McBurnett of the home; a daughter, Sherrye Price of Austin; a son, John Edmond McBurnett of Canton; two sisters, Mrs. E. J. Bierbower of Honey Grove and Mrs. John Barker of Lannius; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive visitors from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home.

Arthur Dean McBurnett, 70, of Route 2, Honey Grove, passed away Tuesday, December 3, 1991 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison.

Funeral services for Mr. McBurnett were held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 5, 1991 at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel in Honey Grove. The Rev. Leslie Thompson Jr. of Denison officiated at the service. Burial was made in Oakwood Cemetery in Honey Grove with Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Fred Hohenberger, James Hohenberger, Mark Mellinger, Freddie Roberts, Kurt Fogelberg and Walter Don Brown.

Honorary pallbearers were E. J. Bierbower, Charles Martin and John Barker.

Mr. McBurnett was born in Soper, Oklahoma on December 30, 1920, a son of Arthur McBurnett and Kate Brady McBurnett.

He was a Merchant Marine in World War II, a member of the DAV and the American Legion and had served as Fannin County Commissioner of Precinct 3. He was a member of the Episcopal faith.

Survivors are his wife, Nancy Evelyn McBurnett of the home; one daughter, Sherrye A. Price of Austin; one son, John Edmond McBurnett of Canton; two sisters, Mrs. E. J. (Lavinia) Bierbower of Honey Grove and Mrs. John (Joycelle) Barker of Lannius; two granddaughters and several nieces and nephews.
