Services for Oatley E. Lynn, long time Honey Grove resident, who died at 9 p.m. Friday, April 4 at Hopkins County Hospital in Sulphur Springs, were held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 7, at the First Baptist Church in Honey Grove, conducted by Rev. Don Bourland. Interment will be in the Oakwood Cemetery.

Mr. Lynn was born February 26, 1890, in Casey County, Kentucky, the son of the late Jessie Lynn and Martha Edwards.

He married Tola Burnsed on December 22, 1912 in Brookston. She preceded him in death, January 8, 1979.

Mr. Lynn was a farmer, employed by the city of Honey Grove for 25 years, and was a member of the Baptist Church in Petty.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Opal Melton of Bonham, and Mrs. Dorothy Nell Hawkins, of Sulphur Springs; a son, Robert W. Lynn of Dallas; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Roy Doyle, Dee Cunningham,Louie Rhodes, James Cunningham, Hoyt Ivey, and Myers Kilpatrick.

Mr. Oatley E. Lynn of 1808 Main Street in Sulphur Springs died suddenly at 9:00 p.m. Friday, April 4, 1980. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Hopkins County Memorial Hospital in Sulphur Springs.

Funeral services for Mr. Lynn were held at the First Baptist church in Honey Grove at 10:00 a.m. Monday morning, April 7, 1980. Rev. Don Bourland, pastor, officiated. Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements and burial was made in the Oakwood Cemetery in Honey Grove.

A long-time resident of Honey Grove, Mr. Lynn had made his home with his daughter and son-in-law in Sulphur Springs for the past several months.

He was recently honored by friends and relatives with a celebration in Honey Grove on his 90th birthday.

Pallbearers were Roy Doyle, James H. Cunningham, Hoyt Ivey, Dee Cunningham, Louie Rhodes and Myers Kilpatrick.
