A retired lineman with Hamlet Construction Company and a member of Jesus Name Pentecostal Church, he was the son of Luna Mae Barrett of McMinnville and the late Thurman Barrett.
He is survived by his wife, Patsy Dillon Barrett; sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas and Krista Barrett, Shawn and Lisa Barrett, Chad and Jackie Barrett, all of McMinnville; daughter, Amy Jo Barrett of McMinnville; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; brothers, William and Billy Barrett of Texas, and Delmar Barrett of Mississippi; and sister, Jane Sparks of Texas.
Services were held Friday at High's Chapel with David Snowden officiating. Burial followed at Mt. View Cemetery on Highway 30.
High Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
