William Luker Love was the son of James Love and Bethany Luker of Georgia. James Love was Sheriff of Henry County in the 1820's and 1830's. James Love was also a member of the Georgia House of Representatives, and a Col. in the Georgia Militia, He moved to Chambers County Alabama about 1850, died there 1863.
William Luker Love served in the Alabama 59th CSA from Randolph County, was twice wounded and was captured by Union Forces in 1865. He was in a Union Prison near Norfolk, Va. at the end of the war. He returned to Alabama and farmed on Sand Mountain, moving to Vienna, Louisiana around 1900.
