Ira File, a former resident of Bond county, died at his home in Farmersville, May 22, 1914 at the age of 65 years, 8 months, and 22 days. Mr. File was born near Old
Ripley August 27, 1848. On December 18, 1868 he married Mary E. Kirkland, who died April 14, 1878. To them were born six children, two fo whom survive. They are Henry File of Cordel, Oklahoma and Thomas File of Sorento.
On November 13, 1878 he married Sina E. Finley and to them were born ten children, three having died.
the widow and following children survive, Mrs. J. W. Tidwell of Sorento, Mrs. William chestnut of Farmersville, Mrs. Jesse Crawford of Peoria, and Myrtle, Harrison, Clara and Edith at home. Besides here are 20 grandchidren, 8 great grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Armetta A. Wilbur of Beaumont, Texas and Mrs. Lydia Boyer of Kansas. Burial was at Sunny Side Cemetery in Sorento.
