Eskil L. Anderson, 74, Topeka, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2002, at a Topeka hospital.

Mr. Anderson had taught school in Lindsborg and WaKeeney and he had been a high school counselor in McPherson and Hutchinson. He was president of Brown-Mackie College in Salina from 1963 to 1971 and president of Salt City College in Hutchinson from 1972 to 1975. He also was a Navy veteran of World War II and an Air Force veteran of the Korean War.

He was born Dec. 3, 1927, in Salina, the son of J. Edwin and Bertha Holmberg Anderson. He graduated from Salina High School and from Bethany College in 1949. He earned a master's degree in counseling in 1958 from the University of Colorado.

He married June Evelyn Koons on Aug. 13, 1949, in Lindsborg. She survives.

Other survivors include two daughters, Jane Dirickson, Weatherford, Okla., and Kristin Chanay, Topeka; a son, Jerry Anderson, Indianola, Iowa; a brother, John S. Anderson, Helena, Mont.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Mr. Anderson was cremated. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the United Methodist Church in Lindsborg.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church in Hutchinson, sent in care of Hays-Christian Funeral Home, Washington and Lincoln, P.O. Box 386, Lindsborg, 67456.
