Samuel married at least twice, though Jack A.Hedger has him m to Nancy Cox. "Samuel C moved to Ridgeway, IL and was a big land owner and farmer. He lived there until late in life when he moved to AR and eventually to a farm near Puxico, MO. He was buried in Pinelog Cemetery near Paragould or Brookland, AR. A lot of the Hedgers had moved to that area and most were farmers. There were more of the Old Clan but I've misplaced a book and don't readily have other names now. I don't think we could be closely related although it is possible from several generations back! I have also tried to find more information about the Hedger family but made very little progress. Part of my hold up is from the fact that few of the Hedger's got along with each other so, very little communication. My Grand father, Samuel Hedger, was married about five times and children by each marriage then part of the time he had a woman living in between marriages so the half brothers and sisters didn't get along well and all felt mistreated apparently."

Corr:Zetta May Proffitt, in Jul 1990. (She is first cousin of Jack) "One of ggPa's brothers has family in St.Louis, MO but changed the spelling to Heidger or Hiedger. My uncles used to go there on the bus and called, and they disavowed being part of our clan, but we are sure they are. There were and are now twins in the family.

Samuel is the grandfather of Delbert Hedger who is also buried in this cemetery.
