LORENE AINSWORTH HOLDEN

September 9, 1910 - October 8, 2007

Lorene's remarkable, full life on Earth was fulfilled on Monday, October 08, 2007, when the special angels came and escorted her to her heavenly home. The last survivor of eight children, Lorene was born September 9, 1910, to James L. and Mary Harrington Ainsworth, in Limestone County, Texas.

Lorene lived in San Angelo, Texas, for over fifty years. The last seven years of her life, she was a resident of Royal Estates, being surrounded by many extraordinary friends whom she considered her "second family".

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry H. Holden; her daughters, Maudie Lee Ainsworth and Mary Juanita Griffin; her son, Vernon Dwain Ainsworth; her step-son, Louie Dell Holden; and her granddaughter, Linda Swaim.

Lorene is survived by her son-in-law, Fred E. Griffin Jr; her step-daughters, Patsy Cason and Peggy Sharif; her grandchildren, Debra Butler, Gary Griffin and Fred L. Griffin; her niece, Wanda Locke; her nephews, James Melvin Ainsworth, Ronnie Towery and Charles Beecher; four great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to express particular gratitude to the third floor nursing staff at Angelo Community Hospital for their kindnesses, love and care during this difficult time. A warm thank you is also extended to everyone at Royal Estates who furnished Lorene with her sense of home and happiness. Also Vista Care Hospice for their care and support.

Visitation with the family will be from 6:00-8:00 PM, Wednesday, October 10, 2007 at Robert Massie Funeral Home.

A celebration of Lorene's life will be at 11:00 AM, Thursday, October 11, 2007 the Robert Massie Riverside Chapel with Rev. Taylor Sandlin, of Southland Baptist Church officiating.

Graveside services will be held at New Hope Cemetery, 2:00 PM, Friday, October 12, 2007, with Brother Billy Bob Evans, of First Baptist Church, Marquez, Texas officiating. Under the direction of Ricks-Bowers Funeral Home in Jewett, Texas.

Internment will be in the family cemetery in New Hope, Texas.

Memorials may be made to Meals for the Elderly, at 310 Houston Harte, San Angelo, Texas 76903 or to a charity of your choice.
