Ed Disney, 94 of the Dutch Valley Community, passed away peacefully Aug. 30 surrounded by his loving family and devoted wife of 71 years, Reba Strong Disney. He was an active lifetime member of Island Ford Baptist Church, where he held many offices and served the church as deacon for 59 years. He enjoyed gardening, wood working, and many will remember him for his years of molasses making at the Museum of Appalachia Fall Homecoming.

He was preceded in death by his parents, W.R. and Hettie Disney; sisters, Beulah Case, Katherine Proctor, and Anna Harmon; brothers, Clarence, Ted, and Woodrow
Disney.

He is survived by his loving wife, Reba Strong Disney of Clinton; daughters, Marilyn Harmon and husband, Omer of Lake City; Linda King and husband, Jerry of Lake City; Jewell Glaspie and husband, Jack of Knoxville, Rosemary Miller and husband, Ben of Jefferson City; grandchildren, Karen, Donna, Kendry, Michelle, and Melanie; great grandsons, Eric and Kaden; very special sister in law, Naomi Bonham of Dora, AL: several nieces and nephews and host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Sept. 1 in the Island Ford Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Harness and Rev. Lowell Elkins officiating. Interment was in the Island
Ford Baptist Church Cemetery.

Hatmaker Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
