Emeline (Lina) Price, the last child of Francis Dawson Price and Catherine Wescott Price, was born on December 26, 1848. She was an active member of Bethel Baptist Church. She married Samuel A Tharp on November 19, 1879 but she had no children. Samuel died June 13, 1905 and was buried at Old Smithville Cemetery, Southport, NC. After Samuel's death, Emeline's sister Mary came to live with her. Mary supported herself by being a seamstress for private families.
In 1920, she was living with her nephew and niece, Dermie and Lillian Price. She died on October 22, 1921 and was buried at Old Smithville Cemetery, Southport, NC.
