Mrs. Frank Clarke died at her home in Highwater last Saturday afternoon after an illness of several weeks from stomach and liver complaints. The remains were brought here and the funeral was held in the M.E. Church, conducted by Rev. Todd, at 11 a.m., Monday, interment being made in Green Hill cemetery by Undertaker Emerson. The deceased had many friends here who sympathize with the bereaved family and relatives and who are grieved at her death. The following obituary read at the service gives a brief history of her life: Rosa B, daughter of Nelson and Margaret (Fulk) Dolph was Born December 26, 1864 and died at her home in Highwater, August 16, 1902, aged 37 years 7 months and 20 days. On thanksgiving day November 28, 1899 she was united in marriage to Mr. Frank Clarke and to this union were given two daughters, Aubrey, aged almost two years and little Dollie, aged 5 months. In the church and Sabbath School she was an earnest, willing worker ever ready to do all that was required of her. She attended the public schools of Johnstown and completed the course, graduating with the class of ‘81. She possessed a cheerful disposition that always enabled her to see the silver lining hidden by every cloud. She leaves an aged father and mother, one sister, a true kind husband and two children besides a host of friends to mourn her departure.
"Beautiful lives are those that bear,
Constant burdens of love and care:
Beautiful hands are those that do,
Work that is earnest, brave and true.
Beautiful twilight at set of sun,
Beautiful goal, the race well run,
Beautiful rest, why should we weep,
God's reward, O, beautiful sleep.
