Elvis Wilson Altman was the only son of Wylie F Altman and Martha Ann Knowles. He was born in Hico, Texas and his mother died when he was just 6 years old.
Wylie and the 2 other children, Rhuey and Helen moved to Mitchell Co in 1905 and then in 1917 moved to Arlington, Texas, where Wylie served as Mayor from 1935-1947.
Elvis married a Mona Lee Watson in 1927 and the marriage produced no children and ended in divorce.
Elvis lived from time to time with his sister, Helen Altman Parks in Goliad, Texas.

Advocate News Service GOLIAD - Elvis Wilson Altman, 73, of Goliad, died Thursday in a Goliad hospital. He had been a resident of Goliad for 16 years and was the son of the late Wiley and Martha Knowles Altman. He was also a member of the Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday at the Wayne Frank Funeral Home in Goliad with the
Rev. Morehead officiating. Burial will be at noon Monday in Parkdale Cemetery in Arlington, Tex.
Survivors are two sisters, Mrs. Sol Parks of Goliad and Mrs. J. A. Collins of Rosemont, Pa.
