Eben R. Bebee was 18 years old when he enlisted in the US Army during World War II. After completing high school, Eben enlisted on 19 September 1944 and received 6 months of training. He was then sent to Okinawa where he hit the beach the 1st day and was killed. Eben served in the 383 Infantry Regiment, 96th Infantry Division.
Eben's brother, John Nicholson Bebee, was also killed in World War II. Both brothers were interred on 10 May 1949 at Evergreen Cemetery in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
