"The remains of Hiram Barnett, a former resident of this place, were brought here for burial at the Passwater cemetery Wednesday. Mr. Barnett died at the home of his son, Nathan Barnett, of Granite City, Monday. He was born in Kentucky 82 years ago. He was a civil war veteran, a member of Company B, 94th Illinois Infantry. Mr. Barnett had been in poor health for some time."
