Informant Blanche Wolcott Hogan Lansing, Michigan. Burial was on October 16, 1917 Maple Grove, Mason, MI.
Isaac Nelson Wolcott was the first white child born in Vevay Township. His father died when he was only two days old. He and his mother lived with her sister, Mrs. Henry Fifield, for several years. In 1843 Isaac's mother married Edwin Hubbard, who raised him as his own. When he was 21 he went to California and remained there for 11 years. He returned and married Cora White a girl his mother had raised while he was gone. At the age of 75 he took a trip to New Mexico to visit the places he had traveled over in his youth. He died on 13 Oct 1917. He was survived by two daughters, Mrs. Russell and Mrs. Hogan, both of Lansing.(Pioneer History of Ingham County, compiled by Mrs. Franc L.
