LEVI JARDON GONE.

Levi Jardon was born at Beford, France in 1840, and came to this country with his parents when he was twelve years old locating in Illinois, but after a residence of two years in that state came with his parents to Kansas in 1855, growing to manhood on the farm just north of A. D. Butels.

Form many months Mr. Jardon has been a great sufferer, relief coming only with death, which occurred at the home of his son, Frank, southeast of the city, last Friday afternoon, and on Saturday the funeral services were conducted by Father Trump from the Catholic church in Media, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Prairie City cemetery. Mr. Jardon leaves a wife and two children, Frank Jardon and Mrs. Celia Roussalat, to mourn the taking away of a loving husband and father.

Mr. Jardon was another of those sturdy old pioneers who helped mould this great state of ours out of the untried material.

For years he was a freighter along the Old Santa Fe trail from Kansas City westward. Many are the friends who join with the bereaved family in their sorrow.
