MORGAN, Martha Ann PENDERGRAFT - Martha Ann Pendergraft was born June 7th, 1849 and departed this life October 9th, 1924. In 1867 she was married to Sam Watson Morgan and to this union were born nine children; five of whom survive, namely: Ola Prigmore of Arlington, Texas; Cinda Beavers of Austin, Texas; Jane Austin of Kansas City, Missouri and Pearl Gwartney and Reuben Morgan of Gravette, Arkansas. Early in life she was converted and joined the Methodist church. Grandma, as she was often called, was a hard worker, noble woman, true mother and grandmother and a good neighbor. She will be greatly missed by all, especially by grandchildren who she loved tenderly. Her life and influence will be missed in the community. Funeral services were conducted by the writer after which her body was laid to rest in the Mt. Pleasant cemetery by the side of her husband to await Resurrection Morn. Roy E. Daugherty. The four children who predeceased Martha are: Charles Lafayette Morgan (1874-1920), William Jasper Morgan (1868-1906) died in Texas and married to Mary Katherine Davenport. Nancy Ellen Morgan was born May 18,1870 and died March 10, 1886 in Missouri. Also, John Wesley Morgan who was born October 7, 1887 and died June 25, 1889 in Missouri.
