Mrs. Emma Hunter Meneley, 80, Auburn, died Monday, Oct. 16, 1989, at the home of a son in Auburn. Mrs. Meneley was a practical nurse many years.
She was born Dec. 30, 1898, in Blaine, the daughter of John V. and Charity Alice Conaway. She lived in Fostoria in Pottawatomie County many years, in Quenemo from 1965 to 1981 and in Auburn since 1981. Mrs. Meneley was a member of First Baptist Church in Auburn.
She was married to Benjamin Hunter Jan. 6, 1917 in Westmoreland. He died Aug. 5, 1924. She married Arch Frazier Oct. 8, 1937, at Fostoria. He died Nov. 4, 1962. She was married to Harry E. Meneley Aug. 8, 1965, in Quenemo. He died Oct. 6, 1984.
Survivors include a son, the Rev. Dewite "Bear" Hunter, Auburn; a stepdaughter, Lucille Meneley in California; a stepson, Gerald Meneley in California; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at South Knollwood Baptist Church at 1813 W. 29th in Topeka. Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. Thursday in Pleasant Ridge (Huff) Cemetery near Fostoria. Mrs. Meneley will lie in state from 2 until 8 p.m. today at Feltner Chapel in Lyndon.
